They must have had a few while Alexis was married to Dex, although I can't remember whether Steven was mostly with Colbyco or Denver-Carrington at that point. That stuff pretty much changed on a weekly basis anyway with Steven and Jeff's loyalties always being in play, then even moreso when Adam showed up.

I could totally see it happening during one of those time when Alexis was being a wench (like always) and Dex goes out to drown his sorrows, goes to La Mirage, runs into Steven...hotness ensues.
